Why get help?

It can quadruple your chance of succeeding. It’s hard to stop on your own. Talking to others with similar experiences can help. The East Lothian Stop Smoking Service can provide group and one to one support.

Stop Smoking Support
The stop smoking services or staff at your GP’s surgeries within East Lothian can offer one to one Stop Smoking Support. If you are pregnant, staff at the stop smoking service will be happy to see you. Tel 0131 537 9914

Most chemists provide one to one stop smoking support & prescribe Nicotine replacement therapy without needing to go via your GP. There are products available to help you with those nicotine cravings.

If you are smoking regularly you may already be addicted to nicotine. Help is available through the Stop Smoking Service Tel. 0131 537 9914 for more information. You can also speak direct to a G.P or a school nurse.

Look at the ‘too young to smoke' photographs. They were produced by young people from the Bridges Project, in response to the raising of the legal age of buying tobacco to 18, in October 2007.
